Star Wars Bound: Princess Leia & Han Solo

When I discovered I was invited to the grand opening of the Delightfully Out of This World: The Unofficial Galaxies Exhibition at Southgate Mall, right away I decided to put together a Star Wars bound to mark the occasion! After running ideas back and forth with my husband we opted to put together our first-ever couples bound and dress up as our favourite Star Wars couple Han Solo and Princess Leia. We had so much fun putting together these looks and taking photos during our visit to the Exhibition!

If you have been following my journey throughout my blog and Instagram you may know that Princess Leia is one of my favourite characters. So when it came to putting together this look I took it very seriously and spent hours looking for inspiration and the best items in my closet and throughout stores to create this bound. The first item I decided on and was the base for my outfit was a white dress that I had purchased from a clearance rack at the Gap during the summer for my Barbie-themed Bachelorette. Since it was a White cotton dress I figured I could always dye it if I wanted but I am grateful I had not gone through that process yet and was able to wear it to create this bound. The next item I found myself hunting for was a belt I ideally wanted a good cosplay-quality Princess Leia belt that I could use for future Leia outfits and costumes and after asking my best friend (eillyboo) who cosplays Princess Leia she sent me the link to this stunning Amazon Belt!

Well, looking through my closet I discovered that I had no white boots so I went online to my go too shoe shop Ardene’s and found the perfect pair of white boots for this bound! I knew well putting this look together I ideally wanted to purchase my dream loungefly purse the Princess Leia purse from 2023 I ended up purchasing it on Amazon and praying it would be delivered in time and thankfully it was! The last two items I purchased to complete this look were a set of star earrings and shimmer tights from Amazon, I wanted to incorporate subtle nods to Carrie Fisher with this look by including little bits of sparkle and glitter wherever I could and I felt both the earrings and tights helped me accomplish this. The last-minute addition to this look was a pair of white wavy-edged socks because just wearing the glitter tights with the shoes was incredibly uncomfortable and I wanted a slight amount of padding to make walking through the exhibit more comfortable. I was beyond proud of how this look came together and I felt the results looked fantastic in the photos, and in person, this is a bound I can not wait to wear again and again!

Now moving on to my Husbands outfit for the Delightfully Out of This World: The Unofficial Galaxies Exhibition when looking at characters for him to bound he had suggested Han Solo because it involved him wearing something a bit more comfortable for the event, which would also still be on theme. We started by looking in his closet for items that would work to create a Han Solo look and we came across a pair of Blue Chino pants and a Black vest my husband had purchased off Amazon a few years ago. So shortly after gathering those items we looked on Amazon and came across the perfect long sleeve shirt and a great belt! We added a Black pair of runners and his look was complete or so I thought but as a surprise when arriving at the event my husband showed up with Han Solo's dice hooked onto his vest he ended up borrowing the dice from a friend and attaching them as a nice little accessory to complete the look!
