How I spent May 4th!

May is always the most exciting month for Star Wars fans, but the standout day of the month is undoubtedly May 4th, which is celebrated as Star Wars Day. This year, I celebrated May 4th with friends and family in some of the most exciting ways. Come with me as I take you through our stylish celebration of May 4th.

Free Comic Book Day

To start off celebrating May 4th we decided to go to our local comic book store for Free Comic Book Day. Free Comic Book Day is where a committee of comic book shop retailers select 48 titles to be given out for free to encourage supporting small local comic shops. This year I wanted to attend so I could pick up the following titles the Young Jedi Adventures, Star Wars #1 bundle and issue 0 of Gatchaman and I am so glad I did! Along with Picking up the three titles I was wanting for free Comic Book Day my local store was giving away 8 issues of comics of your choosing so I ended up picking up mainly the High Republic titles along with a few others.

Shopping

Along with celebrating Free Comic Book Day me and my husband decided to go to our local mall and check out any new Star Wars merchandise releases in store. The first store we went to was Uniqlo where they had just released their new Star Wars T-Shirt Line. The next store we went to was the Lego Store to check out their new releases for May. The Last Store we went to was Hot Topic to check out the New Jar Jar Binks backpack along with seeing if they had any Star Wars Merchandise on clearance, thankfully they did and it happened to be one of the mystery 3D keychain bags featuring all the Females of Star Wars. I ended up purchasing it by pulling the Rey keychain and I couldn't have been happier!

                                        Outfit Of the Day

For May 4th I decided to wear something casual but still Star Wars-inspired. I opted for a pair of jeans, and a black long-sleeve shirt and on top of that I opted to wear my handmaiden hoodie by Her Universe. I wanted my outfit to pay tribute to the Phantom Menace, and my love for Padme and the handmaidens well still remaining comfortable through out the day.

Hoodie: Her Universe

Long Sleeve: Amazon

Tales from the Empire

Tales of the Empire had to be my most anticipated release of May the 4th and because of the anticipation and excitement, me and my husband stayed up late to watch the first few episodes of the series and in all honesty I am so glad we did. I loved seeing both Bariss and Morgan's stories grow and continue.

25th Anniversary of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

To end our day on May 4th, we went to The 25th Anniversary of The Phantom Menace in theatres. Since we never had the chance to watch Episode 1 in the theatres during its original release, this was such a fun experience! Before our showing started to play the movie theatre manager came in and told us a bit of history about the theatre, how it opened the same weekend as The Phantom Menace. It was a great introduction to the nostalgia-filled showing of Episode One throughout the screening you could hear people quoting the film and still being in awe of how well it holds up on the big screen. After The Phantom Menace was over they showed a special preview of The Acolyte and I have to say I am so excited for this series and to see the Jedi order in its prime within the high republic era!
