Star Wars Unlimited: Shadows of the Galaxy Pre-Release

This past weekend myself and my husband celebrated the pre-release of the new addition to Star Wars Unlimited, Shadows of the Galaxy. Shadows of the Galaxy is the second set in the Star Wars Unlimited series, with this set primarily focusing on the smugglers, scoundrels and scavengers of the Outer Rim, emphasizing the Bounty Hunters.

Myself and My husband were very lucky to be able to attend two of these pre-release events over the weekend. The first one was on Saturday, July 6th at Tapps Games and the Second was on Sunday, July 7th at Warp 2. I was genuinely not sure what to expect when attending these events because I was not sure if I would be the only female at this event or the person who was newest to the game, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of kindness and community I was surrounded by throughout the weekend we got to know some of the awesome community members and got advice for strategy throughout the weekend.  

At the Pre-Release event, we were each given a pre-release box that contained 6 booster packs of 16 cards, a set of tokens and exclusive printing of leaders featuring The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) and Moff Gideon. We were given an hour to assemble a 30-card deck that was tailored to the cards pulled from the pre-release boxes. I ended up creating my first deck featuring Cad Bane and my second Deck featuring Kylo Ren. After assembling these decks, we were set up into pairs to play a best out of three games with whoever won getting an extra booster pack as part of your winnings. I ended up winning a few of my games and getting a few extra booster packs at both events. At the events, we ended up getting almost the complete collection of  Star Wars: Unlimited series two Shadows of the Galaxy including some rare cards like Snoke, Rey and Kylo's Tie Silencer. We are now only missing 15 cards to complete our set without the game having been released.

I can not wait till I get the opportunity to celebrate the game's official release on July 12th with my husband as we look to complete our collection!
