Fandom DIY: Making your own Stony Clover inspired belt bag
In 2023, I became obsessed with Stony Clover, a brand that offers unique customizable bags that can be decorated with patches. It reminded me of the time in the mid-2010s when you could make your own Mickey Mouse hats at Disney parks by choosing your ears, patches, and embroidery. However, the price tag associated with Stony Clover's bags was steep, so I decided to make my own version of the bags. I enjoyed the process of adding custom options to a new bag or reviving an old one, so I decided to create a DIY guide to share my experience. It was a fun and easy way to add personality to my wardrobe.
Items Needed
- Belt Bag
- Iron
- Wax paper
- Patches
- (OPTIONAL) Sewing Machine
- (OPTIONAL) Scissors
- (OPTIONAL) Gem Glue
- (OPTIONAL) Rhinestones
- (OPTIONAL) Wax Pencils
Instructions
- Unzip the bag and place a piece of fabric between the front and the back of the bag.
- Create your Patch Layout. I did this by pinning each patch down onto the bag.
- Place a piece of wax paper on top of your design.
- Place your iron on low heat, iron onto the wax paper and iron on patches.
- (Optional Step) Secure patches by sewing around the border of the patches and cutting threads.
- (Optional Step) Using the wax pencil pick up your rhinestones on the front side add a small drop of glue on the back and attach them around the border of the patch
I enjoyed creating these bags and customizing them to match my personal style. It's a simple and cute way to add a personal touch to any item!
