Star Wars Bound: Padmè's Lake Dress
Almost all the items I got for this bound were collectively picked up from Amazon because with my lack of time from deciding to create this bound to the expo I had under a month to put everything together and I knew with Amazon's 2-day shipping I would be able to gather everything quickly well having it all be in my price range.
Scarf DIY
I wanted to have a scarf for with the dress to cover up my arms because of insecurities but also to replicate the idea of the chiffon overlay on Padmè's dress so I ended up ordering a Cotton gauze scarf from Amazon and dying it using Rit Dyes in the following colours
The first part of the dip dye |
The pink Portion of the dip dye |
Final Results of the Dip Dye |
I started by folding my scarf in half and adding an elastic to the point where I wanted the yellow to sit and dipped the scarf into my dye bath. From there I started to dye the pink section. After dying the pink section I added my orange dye into my dye bath and mixed it with the pink to give it a brighter look that was similar to the dress and ended up using that pink and orange mixture as my next colour for dying the scarf. The last part of the scarf was dyed purple after finishing the dying process I put my scarf in the wash and let it air dry. I was incredibly happy with the final results of the scarf!
