✨ Star Wars Outfit of the Day: Game Con Canada Edition ✨
Hello there friends,
When attending conventions I often find myself leading up to the event over fixating on what I am going to wear, I have always been someone who has been into fashion so when it comes to events like a convention or a movie premier I always want to look my best and feel my best, and for the first time in a long time I can say I honestly felt that way well attending Game Con 2025. So I figured today’s post would be a fun way for me to share with you all my overall go-to convention outfit!
When planning an outfit for a convention, I usually take one of two approaches. I am looking for something that is either comfortable or almost costume-like, Disneybound-inspired. For Game Con, I opted for comfort since I knew I would be very anxious and more sensory-sensitive due to the stress of being at a hosted event. So, after spending hours looking through Pinterest and Instagram for outfit inspiration, I decided to take inspiration from one of my favourite content creators, Tracimegumi. I love Traci's style and the ways she pulls inspiration from street style she comes across on her trips to Japan, so I decided to try out her outfit formula for today’s outfit of the day with items from my closet. The First item I ended up selecting was for this outfit was a black maxi skirt I had purchased from a thrift store the skirt ended up being from Shien ( I am very aware of shien and how it is a horrible fast fashion brand but I felt less bad about purchasing it since it was second hand) and honestly I was really happy with the purchase.
What I Wore
Shirt: Super Yaki
Skirt: Shien
Purse: Amazon (Similar)
Jewelry: Girls Crew
Shoes: Sportcheck (similar)
The next item I ended up selecting was one of my favourite T-shirts from Super Yaki, the “produced by Kathleen Kennedy” Shirt. This shirt is always one of my go-to shirts because I am not quite over the fact that I love Kathleen Kennedy and respect her a lot for taking on the helm at Lucasfilm. I feel like she is unfairly targeted by fans and that their disrespect towards her is mainly rooted in misogyny. So every time I wear this shirt, I feel like I am actively going out of my way to make that effort to prove that, although a lot of us Star Wars Fans have been given a bad reputation. I am not one of those people, and I find myself actively making the effort to fight those stereotypes. But now that my little Star Wars rant is over, let's get back to talking about fashion. To complete my look, I opted for a pair of comfortable runners from Sportcheck, my favourite women's Star Wars earring stack from Girls Crew and my Quilted purse from my What's in my convention bag video.
I loved the result of this overall outfit. Not only was it comfortable and cute to wear to a convention, but it was also something I could see myself wearing over and over again with different variations of it in my closet. So let me know what you thought about the outfit in the comments below or on Instagram, but until next time, thank you all for reading and may the force be with you- Chloe
