✨ May the Fourth Be With You 2025: Batuu East Edition ✨
Hello There Friends!
May Fourth is always the best day of the year for me as an avid Star Wars Fan. I love celebrating May the Fourth with my family and friends in fun and exciting ways, and this year had to have been my favourite time celebrating May 4th. This year, I got the chance to celebrate May 4th in Batuu East, where I spent the full day on Batuu purchasing new merchandise, trying the new food offerings, joining in the lightsaber meet up and of course riding all of the attractions! So come with me as I share with you all what I did to celebrate May the Fourth this year!
Merchandise
Leading up to May 4th this year, I was beyond excited to see what merchandise would be released at Batuu East, and it did not disappoint. From the moment we entered Batuu, there were lineups for all of the merchandise stands with a variety of offerings from new popcorn buckets to lightsabers and even plushies. Along with all these offerings in Batuu there was a virtual queue for the Stage One store in the muppets courtyard in Hollywood Studios where you could purchase exclusive merchandise with the May 4th Logo along with exclusive droids, lightsabers and helmets, we got very lucky and ended up getting virtual que for the stage one store as soon as it became available and were able to go into the store later in the day during our May Fourth Celebrations.
Our first goal for our day on Batuu was going to Dok Ondar’s to check out the new lightsaber releases with rumours of five new lightsabers being released on May 4th, my partner (who collects lightsabers) was immediately intrigued to see what character's sabers they would have and if any would be of interest. After waiting in line for about half an hour, we got inside Dok Ondar’s and had the opportunity to see the new sabres! The new saber releases in Dok Ondar’s were the Master Sol color changing lightsaber that goes from Blue to Red to mimik the color change that happens when Osha changes the color of Master Sol’s lightsaber in the Acolyte, the second lightsaber release was the Ren Lightsaber based of the original leaders lightsaber for the knights of ren. My partner ended up purchasing the Master Sol saber because of the colour-changing ability and the sleek non non-bulky design.
Our Second stop for merchandise was off planet at Key Stone Clothers near the entrance of Hollywood Studios. This store had all of the merchandise I was personally most excited about. With the Celebration of the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith (my favourite Star Wars Film) and the 45th anniversary of Empire Strikes Back, these were the merchandise offerings I was most excited about. The collection at this store included Shirts, Ears, collectible figures, Pins, and the limited-edition Hoth Princess Leia Empire Strikes Back doll with R2-D2. I went into this store expecting the limited edition Princess Leia Doll to be sold out but I am so grateful that it turned out to still be available and I ended up purchasing one along with a Revenge of the Sith embroidered shirt, a set of Empire Strikes Back Ears and a Revenge of the Sith 20th Anniversary pin.
Our Last stop for purchasing merchandise was the Stage One Store in the Muppets Courtyard. We ended up getting virtual queue the morning of May 4th, and being group 66, so we ended up being let into the store later in the afternoon. In this store they offered a lot of May 4th logo merchandise along with the new deluxe mouse droid, a Commander Cody Helmet, a Black series commander Cody and Obi Wan two pack, and two exclusive lightsabers the first being a colour changing Anakin Skywalker lightsaber and the second being a two pack of Baylon Skoll and Shin Hati. My partner and I debated on both the Mouse Droid and Baylon and Shin Sabres, but opted to not purchase either due to the lack of space in our luggage. So we ended up not purchasing anything from this store.
We did end up also purchasing a few items online from the Disney Store because they were not available in the parks, but we knew they were must-haves for our collection! The First item we ended up pre-ordering was the New Star Tours Ship to match our other D23 Expo Exclusive Star Tours Ship, and the second item we ended up purchasing was the Padme BaubleBar Revenge of the Sith Ears. The merchandise did not disappoint this year for May 4th on Batuu, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to purchase so many great items! You can see my full Walt Disney World Haul video here, where I show a more detailed look at the items I purchased.
What I wore on May 4th
When I realized we would be in Batuu for May 4th, I right away started planning my May 4th outfit with my partner We debated a lot of options like Anakin and Padme or Rey and Kylo but we ended up deciding on a bound we had previously done but we decided to update it, this bound was Princess Leia and Han Solo. I have been a lifelong Princess Leia girl, and for a long time, I felt like I was not allowed to express my love of Princess Leia due to people around me gatekeeping her character and shaming me anytime I attempted to express my love for her. So this bound meant a lot to me, it felt like I was taking back a piece of myself and getting to share the joy of my favourite princess with the world.
What I wore
Dress: Amazon
Belt: Amazon
Earrings: Girls Crew
Necklace: Girls Crew
Purse: Loungefly
Leia Cutie Cuff: Gifted
Body Glitter: Colourpop Cosmetics (similar)
White Lace Socks: Amazon
White Runners: Amazon
When it came to revamping this Star Wars Bound I knew I wanted to replace the dress from my original bound because as much as I loved the dress it did not feel like Princess Leia to me so I looked for a dress that had a elastic waist and a more flowy top and longer skirt and I ended up finding this dress from my favourite amazon dress brand Grace Karin. I loved the sleeves on this dress and how they were loose and could be worn across the shoulders or up like actual straps.
The belt and purse I ended up reusing from my original leia bound because both items I felt were perfect and did not need to be changed out for newer items, but I did opt to add my princess leia cutie cuff onto my purse because I thought it was a fun little bag charm to match the look. When it came to selecting shoes for this bound, I selected comfort over style and opted for my white runners and a pair of white ruffled socks because I knew that these would be what was most comfortable for myself throughout the day, especially since my feet were extremely sunburnt and swollen.
When it came to styling my hair for May 4th I woke up extremely early to attempt the princess leia style buns and I ended up opting for a half up half down look and the braided buns on either side of my head, to add a little touch of Carrie Fisher to this look I added body glitter from Colourpop cosmetics to my hair, collar bone and cheek bones. To complete the look, I ended up adding a pair of Princess Leia and Padme earrings from the girl's crew and a rose gold rebel symbol necklace from the same brand.
When it came to my partners outfit for May 4th we wanted to reuse a lot of the same pieces from their previous bound but make it more warm weather friendly, for the shirt we opted to switch it from a long sleeve to a short sleeve T-Shirt and for the belt we decided to add a hip bag for storage of items like a phone easier well on rides.
What my Partner wore
Shirt: Amazon
Vest: Amazon
Pants: Old Navy
Belt: Amazon
Belt Bag: Amazon
Shoes: Sportcheck (Similar)
I am so happy with how our Star Wars bounds turned out for May 4th, not only did they photograph really well around the park, but they were incredibly comfortable and we ended up spending a majority of the day in these outfits, well enjoying our May Fourth with fellow Star Wars Fans!
Rides, Characters, Food and a surprise Lightsaber Meet Up
Once we finished the Falcon ride it out time was called for the Stage One Store in the Muppets Courtyard. So we ended up leaving Batuu till later in the evening during this time we ended up going and riding Star Tours multiple times and checking out the toy story park so we could ride slinky dog dash and midway mania once we completed all the rides in the Toy Story Park we went back to Batuu for our reservations in Olga’s Cantina! For my first drink, I ended up trying the Carbon Freeze. The last time I had this drink at Oga’s, they didn't add dry ice to the bottom of the cup, so I was pleasantly surprised at how this had changed the drink. The Second drink I ended up trying was the Blue Banana. I had always heard good things about the cookie that comes with the blue milk, so I was beyond excited to try it. I am an avid fan of the blue milk, so it was no surprise that I loved the blue milk, but the cookie is what I was most curious about, and it did not disappoint. Ending our May 4th at Olga’s Cantina was the perfect way to wrap up celebrating my favourite day of the year, or so I thought. Once we left the cantina, we ended up running into the Galaxy Edge Explorers Lightsaber Meet-up. I had no idea that the meet-up was even happening until we ended up seeing a massive group of people with their lightsabers all on in front of the Millennium Falcon. With my partner having just purchased a new lightsaber, they were beyond excited to get the chance to participate in this meetup and hang out with fellow lightsaber enthusiasts!
